If I remember correctly the 2100 starting about 1970 had a pull off diaphragm mounted on the flat spot behind the choke housing. The rod would be VERY short as it was a integral part of the diaphragm. The later models (starting about 73-75) used a Motorcraft 2150 carb (very similar to 2100) that had an externally mounted diaphragm with a long reach rod. The length of the rad varied by application and revision level. Do you have a tag number or stamped number off the base of the carb? Chuck

Hi Chuck;

Not sure of the # as the tag is only half there so number is gone, casting date is 72 on the body has a 121 in clock like circle on the side.

Got 2 carbs at the car show for $4, both were in nice shape, put new gaskets , etc in each and removed the one in the car I had been having problems with and replaced with one of the ones I bought.

Car runs beautiful with this carb , no stall outs, perfect smooth idle even when set very low and even was able to adjust mixture perfectly.

The only thing I need to do is hook in the rod for the vacuum choke pulloff unit
