My Car
1971 Mach 1 w/408C stroker
I am selling the A/C system that I removed from my car. It includes:

  • Ducts behind the dash, except defroster duct. Also, not including the registers.

  • Evaporator box with blower motor and vacuum actuators. The evaporator should be flushed since it is likely to have debris. All the actuators are in working condition (sold)

  • Expansion valve and hoses. These should be flushed. Also, they were cut to fit a Sanden compressor, not York.

  • Water heater valve.

  • Center console A/C controls w/ wire harness.

  • Vacuum lines.

  • York compressor, not working, for parts only. Includes clutch. This is heavy so if shipping you may not want this.

  • Condenser. I removed the drier since this should be added new.

All was working until the compressor blew up due to high RPMs, so that's why the compressor is for parts only. I flushed the condenser and it flows, but either the evaporator or expansion valves are clogged. These need to be flushed or replaced. The hoses are cut to fit a Sanden compressor so it may not necessarily fit the location of the original York compressor. The system is in decent condition but obviously there are a lot of cosmetic issues due to the years of use and paint from previous restorations. I will be more than happy to answer specific questions or provide close-up pictures.

Asking: $550 (Edit: now $350) plus shipping.

This is the dash duct, not including the defroster ducting. The joints have tape residue that was used to seal them.

This picture shows the hoses connected to the Sanden compressor. The Sanden compressor is not including here, only the old York for parts:

This picture shows the tubing end of the hoses connected to the condenser (the drier is not part of the deal since you should install with a new one):

That's for a 1973, correct?  At least the wiring appears to be 1973...
Sorry. For some reason I miss your question. This was installed in my 1971. My car is a factory non a/c and it had this installed when I bought it, which is a factory a/c. Someone added it throughout the years.

Just curious what do you have in your car now?  The one in my 71 was remove years ago by one of the previous owner.   Been thinking about replacing it but then have also been considering a Vintage Air.

I installed the Classic Auto Air system over the winter. I have not yet tried it. I would use the factory only if I were interested in keeping the car stock.
Got any photos you could post.  As mentioned I'm thinking about going that way and would like to see a finish installed.  Also, was it hard to install or just a pia.

You may want to review this thread. I don't have good pictures of the interior yet.

This is starting to be dead space in my garage. I think this should be nice for someone that wants backup parts. Make me an offer! The A/C controls/levers alone are worth something.

The York compressor is a boat anchor with a working clutch, pulley and adapters. It should be good for a rebuild or as a core. At this time I can separate it from the rest. If anyone wants the compressor you can get it for free, just pay shipping.

This stuff has to go from my garage. I am willing to part out and sell in parts - you pay for shipping. The condenser, compressor and lines are very close to being part of the next dumpster visit.
What I have (see pictures above):
  • Ducts behind the dash, except defroster duct and not including the registers.
  • Evaporator box with blower motor and vacuum actuators. The evaporator may not be of interest but probably someone wants the actuators and/or box.
  • Expansion valve and hoses. These should be flushed. Also, they were cut to fit a Sanden compressor, not York.
  • Water heater valve.
  • Center console A/C controls w/ wire harness.
  • Vacuum lines.
  • York compressor, not working, for parts or core refund only. Includes clutch. May be too heavy to be worth it.
  • Condenser.

Do you still have the evaporator and condenser?? If so, what condition are they in and what do you want for them?

Thanks to @knn I am making progress in getting rid of these items. Here is what I have left:
-Blower motor and housing
-Center console control levers with vacuum manifold and wiring hardness
-Ducts for the side registers and center console with flapper door
-Pulley and clutch for York compressor

I would be interested in the center console control levers and vacuum manifold. If you still have it, what would be the cost.
