I recall read articles on old salt lake races where similar principle were used.

Tho, it was done on flat heads healthy engines and not ment to restore but to boost. The guys were pushing small soft rods of lead to increase compression right before the races. the engines already warm, the lead melted right away and gave them few extra pounds of pressure.

On my cars, compressions are ok, but I'm looking for a good derust&restore spray, I guess I'll have to wait at least till next 1 april to order few cans of that one
