I have a NOS left rear quarter for sale and I have an interested buyer but he wants it only if it's a 71 or 72 because of what ever difference there is. I'm going to get it out of storage to document it for him. Kit what value would you think is fair. The panel is in good condition with documentation in the form of date coded shipping labels from Ford to a dealership in Ma.

As Kit said - the only difference on the '73 are a pair of holes at bumper recess to allow mounting of the '73-specific bumper filler panel. Otherwise, the panels are identical. The RH panel I hung on my '71 Mustang is, in fact, from a '73. A bit of work with the welder filled both holes:

If your interested buyer can't understand this, move on. Even with Dynacorn's full reproductions, there is still a strong market for NOS Sportsroof quarters.

If I remember correctly the channel for the trunklid has a flat spot for a rubber bumper on very early 71's.

What I don't remember is if that part of the car is on the taillight panel or on the quarter panel.

I will be out in the workshop later in the day and will look. I have a very early 71 and a relatively late 73.

Yes, the bumper flats are on early 71s, but those make no discernable difference to anyone except an MCA judge.

Last time I checked ( about 15 years ago) OEM NOS-NIB full Ford 1/4s in good condition were going for a minimum of $1500 each.

The flats areon the corner filler between the quarter and the taillight panel, welded to both:

Same price I paid for my NOS quarter - a week before the full quarters were offered by Dynacorn. I haven't seen any NOS quarter sales since then.

If the Dynacorn panels are a factory-correct fit, I don't see a justification for a ~300% premium over the Dynacorns, even for Ford original panels (not to say that they don't still bring it).

Thanks for your help my quarter is a D1 left hand for a sports roof it's in good condition and as of right now it's sold. 1500.00 seams a bit over priced and I know guys that are selling these panels or at least trying to sell them for that but I really wanted this panel to go to a good home so I cut that number by half. If the sale doesn't happen I'll let the forum know. Thanks again
