Dipstick

Hello everyone,

Today I decide to change the oil engine. I warm up the 351C. Then open the plug, and what a surprise to get 2.5 liters of oil, included oil from the filter.

If I'm right the normal capacity for a 351C is 4.75 liters (5 qts).

Before doing this, I checked the disptick and the level was good, around 3/4 up before the maximum tray.

Last time I changed the oil, and filter, I filled up with only 4 liters, and the level on the lipstick was correct.

You can understand that I'm worry about that.

Is the dispstick is wrong? Any idea?

DOAE-6750A then Ford logo then W (Windsor?)

The capacity is 5 quarts. If you check level before filling the filter, it will appear to be over full with 5 quarts. Once the engine has been started and the filter has filled, it will check at being correctly full. The dipstick number appears to be correct for your application. Chuck
