Multiple Mustangs!
When I built the garage I thought 50' X 80' was big enough, NOT. When I built my work room 26' X 16' that was the widest I could go and not have to go to a truss system. I used 2"X12" sitting on 2x4 studs on 12" centers staggered so the inside walls to not touch outside. Better insulation and less sound transfer. The eve height is 14' so the lowest point in attic is a little over 4' and goes to over 8' at highest. Great way to gain storage.

When they put the building up there was lots of insulation scraps and a couple big rolls left over so that went in the walls or the work room and last week put from 6" to 12" overhead in the room then put down a OSB floor on top. So that gave me a Mustang Attic to fill with junk, lol. I have so many parts and bins I will fill it up quick. I did put a 45" angle around the room to vault the ceiling and make it stronger for the storage. Putting a set of attic stairs on the outside wall to have access without having to use a ladder. I did not want the steps in the room due to putting under pressure when painting.

So another step finished now to get the 72 Q vert into the room and get moving on paint. I have been working on heater box, headlight buckets, dash and such over the winter. Always something in the molasses tank getting the rust taken off. I have three Ginger interiors to pull a complete set of Ford interior out of then will sell some of the extra off.

So off today move parts up on the new storage area. My neck and back is killing me carrying OSB up a ladder at 70 is getting tougher. Took two days to complete.

Pics make it look big until you fill it up. Will probably put a rail around later but for not just want to get stuff moved.

Looks great!

I have a 30x40 shop and it is getting smaller by the day!  He is right, you can never have a garage that is TOO big!  LOL

Looks great and any size shed is never big enough!

Hopefully someday I will have a shed big enough to swing a giraffe in but for now it is just a storage shed and I work mostly outside

Luckily the weather over here is pretty good

Are you using the room as a spray booth with extractor fans etc?

lol, It is not big enough I have 15 cars. Then my son split up his X and lots of his furniture in there that has to go. I have so many parts also I use to sell at swap meets but too much trouble and bad back.

You can never have too big of a garage.

When you tear down a complete car it takes lots of space for all the parts to be laid out. A GM car like an early Camaro has half as many parts it seems.

They are very strict here on paint rooms. If I were to get caught painting cars it is about a $30,000 fine from EPA. They have to come do soil samples on a regular basis and check to see if you are sending you waste to an approved processor. So it is a work room for now, lol.

The building is actually very easy to heat. Never below in the 40's at night with a small space heater. I get great sun in the windows that heats it up during the day. I have a propane heater but seldom use it. I actually bought a big heater but never put it in do not need it.

I do wish I had 20 more feet in length though. The buildings are very cheap I think with everything it was right at $20.00 a sq. ft. all in. If I had been able to assemble I could have saved a bunch. A crew of 6 put it up in about 4 days with insulation and all.

Need to do a thread on what all was involved. I did all the wiring and carpentry and plumbing which anyone can do.

My friend that does restorations was figuring the other day and he has spent over $750,000 for rent over the years. Him and his dad together. His dad has tool & die mold shop. He wishes he had built many times.
