When I go to stans-headers.com it's trying to get me to download/install something on my browser that it says will change my search engine to yahoo.... Smells kinda fishy.

If those 429 hooker headers need a home, I may be interested in adopting them if they might work for a 72 Gran Torino.
Call Rich. He can tell you what fits the '72. He has a N code '72 he races. 815 496 2729I have 2 sets of the hooker 6115 both new. Shipping is the issue.

I had headers on the 72 429 I bought but didn't like them because they were easy to scrape as they went below the frame. The passenger side rear tube came through the fender weld down to the collector. I bought two sets of shorty headers but had to return them because the drivers side came down on the cross member. I found after a long search a manifold set and put them on. Now i'm back to the original.

I had the hooker 6201 super comps on my 72. 6115's have larger tubes and the CJ size exhaust ports. I would expect the 6115's and 6201's to sit about the same distance below the engine cross member. The 6201's fit great but were VERY low to the ground. Like Fuzzyflash said, they were easy to scrape. I have a pair of FPA's but haven't had the big block installed in anything to try them out.

I'm using FPA mid-length headers. Had to ding one tube to get around power steering box.

I have these on my 429cj Cougar and would recommend if you have the time and patience to deal with the guy that makes them. I didn't have to ding it, but it took a while to get the drives side in place and it's right on the PS pump, but fits none the less.
