Canister tube to air cleaner fitting is a slip on

Ht riser to snorkle is a clamp I think 5/16 hex head - might have been the crimp one - I'll see what I can dig up

Find pics of Chuck's car aka C9ZX he made one but it might have been after he left the site.

For what it's worth: The tube in the picture for the air cleaner to canister is too aluminum-type shiny. Should be a light charcoal color for factory correct appearance.

Mine slips on the air cleaner and clamps to the canister.

My manifold riser to snorkel tube did not have a clamp on either end when I took ownership from original owner at 42K. Not that it means too much, but he swore everything was original expect the distributor cap.

Yeh, like the big one. Can't find one the correct color.

The big tube is NOS from Don.

Could maybe paint it charcoal grey like the big one.

A while back you used to be able to purchase Ford replacement canister lines from Mustang Barn in PA. They had a Mustang II part number and were 36" long - more than enough for 2 in the 71 - 73 cars.

If not, try to match the color of the larger snorkel tube. Texture will be a challenge since the original was the same as the snorkel, paper.

I checked that site and did not see any canister hoses so I will email

them. The texure is paper like and that will be hard to copy like you

said. Got the cleaner blasted and painted so the project is coming

together. One member suggested painting the hose blue like the

cleaner. That would work also.

Don't know why I am obsessed with getting this to look right, it is already

fully functional. Something about a Mustang...

Mike, paint the tube black - use light coats

Going over silver it will look greyish at one point - stop when it is a close match to the new heat riser tube
