My Car
1968 hardtop coupe 289
Just got my Son and I a nice little 68 hard top with a 289. Has been painted / needs repainted with a bit of body work but other than that it is STOCK. The 289 hasn't been touched and it does need touched lol. Got a few gaskets leaking The interior looks ok for now I think it will be a good car to work on. Of course he is drooling and has big plans, but hopefully I can keep him in check and keep the car true to form. Glad we found the forum and hope to learn a lot. Cam

Welcome to the 71-73 only mustang forum. Lol. Just kidding. Please note my user ID. ;)

Sounds like a nice project. I have an untouched original 289 on an engine stand awaiting me to start touching it as well.

Post some pics when you get a chance. And drop a pin on our member map which is located under the fun stuff tab at the top of the page.

P.S. It's nice to see the popularity of our forum is prompting non-7123 guys to join. This is cool! Again, welcome!

Oops this is such a nice forum and has good info I joined in the wrong years.lol. Nice forum you have here.

It's fine. We have a few non-7123 members who feel perfectly at home here. We have a forum for other mustang years and even have an other vehicles forum. ;)

The other makes doesn't get a lot of technical answers but the other mustangs will get you some solid advice because mustangs are mustangs and have many overlapping solutions.

Be warned though, you may find yourself becoming a 123 fan and start wanting one for yourself. Lol

Might I ask that you being a 68 owner how you came across this site? More curious than anything. Thanks.

Welcome to another Sooner and Son. My first father-son mustang project was also a 1968 Stang. Nice cars to drive and work. Perhaps the most popular mustang ever. Best wishes to you both on the project.

WELCOME!

As don65stang noted, we do have a forum here on the site for "Other Mustangs" and we also have a number of members who have mustangs other than the 1971 - 1073 Mustangs.

I, personally, have a 1969 Mach 1 that I am restomodding. You will find a lot of the technical issues are relevant to your 1968, so don't be a stranger

If you do want to raise an issue that is unique to your '68, you might want to post it in the "Other Mustangs" forum.

Again, Welcome and I applaud your getting a project that can involve both you and your Son:)!
