My Car
I drive a maroon 1972 Mustang hardtop coupe with a 351 Cleveland under the hood.
I'm looking for some help. I'll include pictures to illustrate my question. just the other day, a small piece of chrome side moulding came off of my car, and I'm not sure how it goes back on. The clips are still in place and the piece looks intact, but I can't seem to figure out how the clips work! If anyone has any advice or ideas about how I could fix this, please let me know!

Those clips have small studs that go through into the inside of the car with nuts on them. You will have to remove the rear interior quarter panel trim inside. Then you should be able to look in there and see the studs sticking through with the nuts on them. You will need to remove the nuts and pull the clips out. You may need new clips, but cant tell by the looks of it. Once the clips and stud assembly is out you can slide them into the grove on the backside of the trim piece. The wire spring attached should hold them in place for you.  You may want to check that the groove in the trim piece is not bent out and that the spring holds the stud in there tightly. Then reinstall trim back on the car with the studs going through the holes and attach the nuts on the inside. replace interior trim panel and done.
