Intake Gasket and Valley Pan - cooling

Hope this makes sense.

Just finished adjusting my lifters and ready for the intake to go on.

I'm laying out the gasket (order goes gasket, valley pan then intake)

and noticed that is partly covers one of the coolant ports, is that a huge deal? Should I augment them to not block the port? See pics -

I would not use the valley pan. Just my preference. Also what brand gasket did you purchase so I don't get the same one? Looks to be way off on the ports as well.

 
That isn't a coolant port, that's the exhaust crossover. It warms up the manifold so that the fuel doesn't stick to the walls of the runners and keeps it "atomized". I always block them so the intake stays cooler after it warms up.

The ones I have used were FelPro and Mr Gasket, both had the head gasket already bonded to the pan. Both also fit better than those.

It is not a coolant passage it is exhaust crossover to heat the carb. It will be fine. Chuck

The gasket is Engine Pro and I bought the Valley pan a while ago...don't know the brand. But it locally available.

If I remember that hole goes no where and does nothing and not part of the crossover. Some of it will still be partially exposed after intake is installed and torqued
