All,
I have a leak that drips out of the bellhousing inspection cover hole on my ford toploader transmission. I thought it was the input shaft seal and I replaced it. The oil "drips" seemed to slow down but not go away. I have checked the vent hole on the top cover and it is not clogged.
The separator plate between the trans and block does not have oil dripping off it (inspection cover off). The only oil I see is on the face of the transmission (where input shaft housing screws on to).
Could a rear main seal leak go into the bellhousing of the manual transmission? I am wondering now if it was the inputshaft seal or the rear main leaking.
Thank you
Brian
