Interested in opinions about Lizard Skin thermal spray in insullation and accoustic insullation. What are your opinions. Im debating to go with that or Dynamat or Eastwood Mat .

Im not going to use it just because of the name, I already pulled out a snake skin and mouse carcass so Im not going to put anything associated with a dead animal back in my old mustang.... JK. I've never used it but always wondered how it works compared to dyna-mat or the similar products. Hopefully someone has some experience with it Id be interested in their opinion. good post btw Dennis

I have never heard anything but good comments about Lizardskin. The sound control adds mass to the sheet metal (which is why it is applied first when using both sound and thermal coatings) just like the dynomat and Eastwood mats would do. They reviewed it on Autorestomod at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUN61EzFaRA. The nice thing is how fast it can be applied and how thorough the coverage is.

I used the sound control in my resto. I researched it quite a bit prior to taking that path. I know several guys with kit cars and they all preachy that it is the best they have ever used compared to the glue down mats. I like that you can paint over it to match the body color. Obviously it will show the texture, but at least the color will be correct. I will use it on any future projects as well.

There is a formula for a home made version that is far less costly and uses the microspheres used in fiberglass work, which are just tiny glass beads used as filler. The homemade formula uses latex exterior paint. It apparently can be made fpr about 1/5th the cost
