Looking at buying a 72 convertible with 429 out of 71...doing my research

Hi All. Looking at my first classic car. I've never worked on an engine since small engine class in high school. Looking at a72 Mustang halfway to a mach 1 conversion. HAs A 71 429. Where do i findinfo on the engine so I can tell more about it. Is there a site to run the Vin to know what it was like as original.

Not sure iI wantto take on a project car, more of a driver quality that can I take for ice cream. Car is a convertible. What should I look for as far as rust and glaring issues?

Its a 3 speed auto not sure if original. Would that handle the 429? Apologize for Grammer my phone doesn't like the site

It will help you know how the car came originally.

Ok Marti Report, looked it up... great idea. Since I dont actually own the car yet I was thinking the 20-30$ report just so i know for sure what I'm getting might make sense. Or should i pay for the more expensive versions?

How do i find out about the engine? Told its out of a 71.
