Quick question on this as I am still searching for a decent T-5 to start this process. I see mentioned the 87-93 T-5's. Is there a reason an 86 T-5 would not work? From what I can searching the web there is not a difference. Any help would be appreciated.

85-6 there were no World Class units and you really should get a WC

trans to put behind a well built 302 or a mild Cleveland.

It's All about torque rating.

Some reading;

I looked on Ebay for 12 mo to get a deal on my WC T5. I narrowed

my search to 87-95 Mustang 5.0 T5 and checked for it being WC.

Always check the tag or the casting marks and numbers, speedo type, drain/fill plugs

to identify the unit. You really need to take the time to educate yourself

to know what you are buying.

I bought the trans first before the bell because of the different input

shaft lengths. The 94-5 has a longer shaft and needs the corresponding bell.

So I got the MDL clutch pedal with the Scott Drake pedal hanger roller bearing

kit installed.

For whatever reason the washers supplied are too thick to let the snap ring engage.

Also the hole that it fits into on an automatic pedal support is oblong and not round

so I had to come up with a way to lock it down in position.

Overall not a horrible job to do just a PIA.

I took abt 3/32 off the thickness of the washers and added a screw with a locknut to anchor it in position

so it would be secure. Best I could do without removing the support and my limited resources.

I'm happy with the results.
