Doing the final detailing this past weekend for my first MCA judged show with the 72 and realized my gas pedal assembly is bent. Compared to a friends 73 and mine is skewed to the left. Always thought it was close to the brake pedal.

Does anyone have an extra gas pedal assembly available?

Give me a price and I will send an airbill for shipping.

I need it by this weekend please.

PM me if you have one.

As always thank you to the 71-73 family for help.

bkdunha, there was a change during the 72 production run. The D1ZZ pedal was used through 6/18/72. From 6/19/72 the D3ZZ 1973 pedal was used. Can't remember what the difference was or if the 73 pedal replaced the 71-72. Maybe someone like David could check his 73 against one of his other "Fleet" vehicles. I know you said you were in a hurry, but I did find the D1ZZ pedal on E-Bay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-1972-Mustang-Accelerator-Pedal-Assembly-Ford-Part-D1ZZ-9725-A-/371572819299?hash=item5683774563:g:A5gAAOSw~OdVfhAS&vxp=mtr

I know MCA judging can be tough, and as David mentioned, I don't know if that is something they would check. But at least you have a couple of options even if you can't resolve your pedal issue before the MCA event.

Sorry, I don't have one either. I know you are all over the MCA requirements for your car, it shows from what I have seen of it. The pedal would not be something I would over stress about and I would try to just straighten it personally (at least for this show). Hope you find one in time and Good luck at the show.

David, I thought there was some black colour on these pedals also (besides the lighter colour you refer to?

The difference was how the throttle cable mounted.

71 and early 72 the cable has an eyelet and uses a pin with a clip

Late 72 and all 73 had a plastic snap in bushing

I have a box of them, which one do you need I'll see if I have it

Also do you want one with a good spring [ the one on ebay looks like the spring is gone]

No black pint on the gas pedal

I think there is black paint on the parking brake pedal though

Mine is a production date of 01/72 and is the eyelet and pin style. Yes, I would be looking to include the spring and if possible the stainless trim. While I am asking also looking for a good emergency brake release handle. Willing to restore one that may have had the paint on the letters wear off, but not missing any of the plastic.

If you really need one (and not going to try and straighten it), then I have one, but you will need to replace the plastic pedal. Here is a link (but it is repainted, not natural phosphate).

re a couple photos of the ebrake release handle. It has some wear on the top edge where it hit the mechanism, but it might be useable. Lettering is nice and crisp for refilling with white paint. Shoot me a PM if you want it with your mailing address and I'll get it in the mail in the morning

After digging them out there are multiple differences

Sometime in the 71-2 version a set of stops was added to the mounting bracket

Also notice the late 72 - 73 version has a different pedal mounting pin, clips and bushings.

I have a bunch of them, good springs, all have some pedal wear 35.00

I have new pedals for 17.95

Thank you to everyone. I was able to locate one and avoid the expense of shipping. Don your information on model year changes is good to have. Thank you. One more item checked off the list for next week.
