Maybe so but usually where there is smoke there is fireAww thats a myth to make the pinto fail ..Kinda like the one built about our stangs being heavyYES FORD HAS SCREWED UP 74 - 78 MUSTANG LOL THE ROLLING FLAME BALL THE PINTO TO NAME A FEW
In 1975-76, the Pinto averaged 310 fatalities a year. But the similar-size Toyota Corolla averaged 313, the VW Beetle 374 and the Datsun 1200/210 came in at 405...pretty much any small car being hit by a big one mite explode or worse...But read alot of publishers and writers still apologize too ford for that one..Cause that myth never died....And all the car makers backed out because they found out there cars killed more than the pinto few years later...Pinto was one of the saftest smallest cars of its time.
btw..I think the mustang ii can look greatBut thats just my opinon..And with right mods will blow the doors off most stangs...small v8 being all light weight with such a strong body and full hotch kiss style sway bars most high po models got stock.....what a beasty under the right hands...Ill take any of these laying around that no one wants "opens garage door" hehe
Replace your front shocks and look at your balljointsWish my 'vert had the rack and pinion steering the old Pintos had. It floats ("steers") like an Olds '98.
I haven't had much problem with that lately...finally, a mustang with visibility out the back window!
Just givin' ya a hard time, Jim!Verts excluded, my bad.

http://wardsauto.com/blog/my-somewhat-begrudging-apology-ford-pinto just a few of the apologys made too ford about the fire pinto...Less people died in the pinto than any other car its size.Maybe so but usually where there is smoke there is fire
