Fired right up and runs great. So excited. Well the brake petal has no force and reservoir is empty so I havetmoved it yet. I'm hoping to work on that today. I have bids too!

Oh and the manifold and valve covers were spray painted silver/chrome by previous owner..not really my top to do list right now. They function and that's all that matters to me right now.

And actually that intake was the original 4 bbl intake off my old 289 car that sat for 20 years. When I upgraded to the aluminum performer intake I traded the cast iron intake for some headers to my brother in law. He decided to paint it to make it look better and well this is what it looks like 5 years later

Thats right priorities keeps the project moving fwd ::goodjob::

That's the plan now that it runs OK I'm going to try to get my brakes to function lost my air chuck to pump up tires. Guess ill try to bleed them first and see if fluid is actually movving and not clogged up somewhere

OK so Im not able to get the brakes functioning however the e brake works well going to try and move the car slowly and turn it around so it will be in a better position for me to get the front end off the ground and begin troubleshooting the brakes. I have a feeling the MC is bad but the bleeder valves are so tiny I don't have and wrenches to fit it. Going to have to bring some from work and try another day but the weather is saying 100 degrees plus for the next 5 days.

Happy birthday! Carb looks great & glad it runs! Make sure you have a good fuel filter to keep any rust from the tank out of the shiny carb.

OK well something is fubared up with the brakes.
Assuming you have power brakes make sure the vacuum line is

attached to the proper port on the Holley. Sometimes the PCV

port and brake port are different from front to rear.

Thanks for the tip. No my car does not have power brakes. I did get a firmer pedal back after driving it a bit around the house. I'm going to go to each wheel and see which ones are working and whats not. I know the right rear works because it locked up and skid on the gravel a bit when I hit the brake. I work in no A/C 12 hours a day I'm not very motivated when I get home to mess with it until we get out the 100's. Just too damn HOT! I'm at work now and our shop thermometer says 102 inside. Oh well only 7 hours to go!

A drum brake "grab" could indicate a brake fluid leak.

Temp right now is 60, but I have no place to work on the car
