I want to get a new hood for my car, but have heard all the horror stories of fitment and the edge trim not fitting right. I have the NASA hood on my car now, but someone drilled holes for hood pins, there is rust holes, and I just dont think the hood is worth salvaging. Can anybody recommend which brand hood to buy, and explain how the re-pop edge trim doesn't fit?

My repro hood fits fine, it actually doesn't have as much of the factory bow to it, as for what brand I don't really know, I bought it from a guy at a swap meet. It was in a box but there was no brand on the box. The repro Ford tooling edge trim is the way to go, I tried the cheaper repro hood trim and it didn't contour to the hood shape. The ends also had  the wrong angle. I'll try to  post some pictures when I get home. The pictures really don't show the wrong angle on the ends of the hood trim very well. When I had it on the car with the fenders it really shows up. If a person wanted to take the time and modify the cheaper hood trim, you could probably make it fit better. My opinion would be spend the extra money for the Ford tooling one. If anyone is interested in a new repro hood trim (not the Ford tooling one) they can have it for free, just pay shipping cost.
