I remember the AlfaSud!

They were so prone to rust that if the truck driver got caught in a traffic jam between the factory and the dealership they were rotted away before they reached the showroom! :D

I can imagine an AlfaSud car show. No cars but the owners show up with cinerary urns. rofl

Thank you, lots of plans and still to decide on the finer details when I get the car to my workshop, can not wait! Need to decide a few things on the fuelling/management side as the engine I have was originally an auto and need to source a manual ECU or go to a stand alone set up (££££'s!!)

One thought that keeps cropping up for simplicity is to go to carbs for a number of reasons. The Jag engine has distributorless ignition but can easily fit an older XJ40 unit to do away with coil on plug and remove all EFI gubbins/ECU and run an MSD ignitor. This will not be a daily driver so the benefits of EFI are not important and the car was built with a carb and would be good to have a modern engine with some original under bonnet kudos..

I am in Edinburgh, are you in Scotland?

Stuart

Can't wait to see what you have planned, Stuart. Where in Scotland are you located? Welcome to the forum!
