I really like the look of this year Fairlane. I also like the Ranchero from this year, it was the only Ranchero based on a Fairlane.

 
Very nice, always said Ford Aus should have followed the U.S and made the ZC/ZD Fairlaines in a 2 door. Love watching "street" cars on the back wheels leaving the line with all that horsepower over powering the chassis (bought back some memories) but the trick is to keep it going straight on them. As for the gearshift, they're known as lightning rods and as you can see in the video, they're just a simpler way (apparently) of changing gears without them jamming up on the strip. Personally never used a set as I've never had a real problem using a normal single lever, but they do look cool.

 
all the levers are the shifting mechanism for lenco or Bruno type trans. let off the clutch leaving the line and every time you pull a lever you a **** gear with out pressing the clutch. They are a stackable type trans were you can 2-6 gears by adding anther set of planetaries behind the first set. We run just the reverser attached to the clutch can in the top fuel car.
