Leaving shortly to meet up with a friend and then hit the road to Mustang, OK for the MCA Grand National. Looking forward to visiting with Chuck and Ray while up there. Going to be a wet ride through AR with the remnants of Isaac still hanging around. Coming back tomorrow after the show so I will get some pictures posted up later. Looking forward to meeting everyone there and sharing some stories.

On a seperate note, looks like I will be picking the 72 up in September. I have been assured that it will all be done no later than 09/21/12. Looking forward to getting started on the long re-assembly process.

Back from Mustang. Had a great visit with Chuck and Ray while there. We met up with Chuck and his family a little after 8 on Friday. It was very nice for them to wait on dinner for us. His wife is a great cook and his family was alot of fun. He granted us access to the garage mahal to see his astounding collection of cars. Beleive me guys his mustang is #1 in my book but the cougar Eliminator and CSX Cobra are a close 1.25 and 1.5. I did figure out in meeting with chuck that he side lines as a mad scientist. Ask how he does something and reaches into a cabinet or on a shelf and pulls out a bottle or can and tells you how to get it done. Ray joined us a shared in the fun and conversation. It really was a great visit with Chuck and his family and Ray. After about 4 hours of sleep at the hotel Rick, his wife and I drove over the the show and arrived around 9 am. Many cars were there with more arriving. Rick and I estimated between 250 -300 cars, but this soley a guess. We did find 5 71-73 with Chuck's light years ahead of the rest in quality of restoration and detail. I sincerely mean it when I say he has set the bar for all of us. I will post up several pictures from the show, but these are the ones that mattered most (friends and cars)

We could have done without the 102 Temperatures though!!!!!

Brian,

Very nice time with you, Rick and his wife. I was fortunate to be invited by Chuck and his family. Great folks! - Really know how to make people feel welcome.

It is always nice to meet true 71-3 enthusiasts. Sharing stories, experiences and laughing through the many challenges we overcome as we attempt to make these cars as we desire. Wish more from here could have made it but the weather was tough.

Hopefully there will be another event in Mustang, OK where more can attend.

Brian - your passion for your car is admirable. Can't wait to see continued progress!

And Mark - I have lots of pics. Just trying to pick choose the best site to post to... Flikr, etc?

Ray

Brian, Thank you for the kind comments. I especially liked the Mad Scientist comment, at least with the cars I get to apply some of what I learned in college. We really enjoyed having you, Rick and his wife being able to visit with us. Glad you all made it home without incident. Chuck
