Sorting through the boxes of parts from the tear down on my car, can't seem to find the Ford colour code for this piece? Help. :whistling:

That is a different Looking pump then was on my 73 H code but per the discussion in the link above mine is a teal like blue. I have the original out of the car and can grab some pics for you but I am thinking the 429 was a different pump than the 73 351. Let me know. Your pump in the pics looks different.

I think the discussion that Ray referred to is more towards the 69-70.

Here is a screenshot of the 71-73 MCA rules stating semi gloss black.

Send me your email and will send you the complete 11 page PDF MCA rules/colors for our cars.

opps, sorry folks, it was meant as a funny... You guys are just to Mustang serious... :whistling: Semi-gloss black it is... and will be. I was just showing some of the changes PO's made to the engine compartment over the years and what I got when the car arrived last year... The AC brackets were painted red, alternator brackets, orange... The pump looks different because the brackets on the 429 cars were different.

I caught it Pastel! The Green/Yellow is a very familiar sight, especially in the South. I'll call the John Deere dealer and get the codes for you so your pump and bracket will have that new "Just left the Factory" look! :whistling:

The bracket does tend to throw some people off. Ford used the same P/S pump on 71-73 Mustangs regardless of engine size.

Aren't you glad we can be so helpful at times? :p
