And, what color are you going to paint it??
Ultimately this is the color goal. Although the hood will be black.

That being said, I should be done sanding it by my 90th birthday. It started raining here now...so moving in inside to tackle the fuel tank / line swap out...which should be a treat.

Paul, no doubt you have read posts on replacing fuel tanks and line recently.
I have a massive hard-on for NOT using worm gear clamps on fuel lines. Please make sure to use approved proper fuel line clamps.
The car will look great in that color and hopefully you'll have it done by your 91st birthday!!
All the best with it.

Thanks pal. I'll do some research on this. Didn't get into this yesterday, got sidetracked, and considering this is the first time I am doing this kind of replacement, I'm procrastinating a little admittedly.

Managed to get the majority of the sanding done on the right front and door yesterday. As you can see, I'm slowly working my way toward that back problem window. But progress is progress. The holes in the lower edges are being handled on todays schedule. You'll see that I only sanded those areas down to the metal on the lower portions so that I can do some patch work, then resand and prime those spots. It only took about three hours to get the multiple paint layers off lol.

By the way, any tricks on getting those door trim / moldings off? Those things are on there like cement.

I did a fuel tank replacement with new SS lines and rubber tube replacement including a 3/8" solid fuel line to the Holley 670 cfm carb.
Have questions? Ask away and please, ask before buying.

Great watching your progress, it's impressive! Love this end color goal you've set... It'll be another masterpiece.

Do you mean the roof rail trim that your trying to get off. Underneath the weather strip rubber ( which can be glued in at various areas ) you will find small screws that fasten it to the roof rail. This trim may also be glued in with silicon at intervals, so be careful not to be to aggressive with it, cos they do buckle up.

getting that primer off the handle, lock cylinder and front side marker will be a bugger. I would recommend first to remove those before priming or if it is a driver while work evolves mask them off. Please remember painting is 90% prep in most cases. Not trying to be critical just wanting to offer suggestions to consider.

Yeah, I'm aware. But as mentioned, I'm replacing all those parts with new ones, as the old ones were in pretty bad shape. So in this case, I wasn't worried about masking them.
