Hello,

This morning I decide to remove the rest of the exhaust, pain in the ass, specially when we have to work like miserable under the car, in horizontal position. But anyway it's done.

It's more easy now to remove the differential.

Have you seen the "What did you do to your car today" thread? You are a perfect cadidate for that!

Oh yes, I post 2 weeks ago there, and today I will :)

Pull the pinion support from the case, take the pinon gear with it. Depth is set with shims under the inner bearing. The crush sleeve sets bearing preload. He can put a new crush sleeve in with the new seal and nut, torque the nut and reset the bearing preload. He may get lucky and be able to stab the pinion back in and have it be fine.

You tag indicates you have 3.50 gears. That's a nice ratio. If you're not comfortable with doing the above, pull the whole 3rd member out and take it to someone.

To my knowledge you must have it on the bench. Sorry. You went through some mess getting that far and in a very uncomfortable position I'm sure.
Very very unconfortable :s

never mind

I will take the differential out and bring to someone who can do that.

At the same time I can start to set the new clutch kit and put back the gearbox.

Now time to go to work;

I think that is a wise move. For what little it takes to damage them if installed incorrectly, you sure don't want to make a mistake.
Imagine I damage the rear axle, after all that time spend under the car in horizontal position, I don't want to take the risk. I have an idea to bring it to a 4x4 specialist, close to my home, for sure he surely knows what to do.
