Rear Leaf Springs

So, how difficult is it to replace the leaf springs on my '71 with

staggered shocks and sway bar? The Ford shop manual talks

about a "special" tool to install new front bushings on the spring.

Then again, Ford shop manuals always talk about "special" tools.

We recently installed a new engine so this should be a walk in the

park; I just hate springs.

It is not bad, but plan on cutting out the front bolt, cause they usually are frozen beyond salvage.

New springs will likely come with new front bushings preinstalled.

Its the rear bushing that are fun to deal with and the "special" tool is a BFH and alot of Kroil.

It's a walk in the park but just takes longer. I assume you have the 2 extra bits needed for staggered, plus a mig.
