Found this pic looking for 71-73 mustang pics.

Poor ol sportsroof rotting away on the side of a highway.

When I saw this I thought to myself I got it good with my mustang and kind of like the rust patina look.

Well I just learned something. I didn't know that the gas cap was 71 specific and i completely missed the honeycomb tail panel. Thanks for the info.

Dude, you found my car!
Which one? :p

My '73 Mach has the same honeycomb panel and gas cap. I don't have the body side mouldings though, and it appears the rear bumper is to close to the body for a '73. Just an observation.

Steve
I noticed that as well.

I deleted and started over because I couldn't get the pic to show. Trying again.

Every time I see a pic of your car I smile b/c I have its twin...just not in that good of shape.

Also the tail lights are black around the lens for the 71/72's, the 73's are bright aluminum. I guess Ford saved a few pennies in black paint for the 73's.

Yeah and talk about a PITA to reproduce it correctly. About three hours of taping

True I just don't know if I would trust myself to mask off the lens perfectly. I was planing on just blacking out that entire aluminum piece.

Like I said it was a real pain but was worth it once we untaped them. But like I always say you can do whatever you like, cause at the end of the day all that has to like it is you.:D
