Ordered a Summit Racing 2.5" header-back system since we were running little shorty Thrush muffler that were never going to pass inspection. Passenger side, after a little cutting, welding and bending fits great. Driver's side over the differential hits the staggered shock. Not totally surprised as staggered's are the minority. Anyone have any pics of the OEM routing of the driver's side differential section on staggered shock set ups so I have something to aim for before I start cutting everything up?

(I will say the exhaust sounds awesome based on our test fire today. Price was right.).

TIA.

I'm trying this from my phone... let me know if you need more pictures..
Oh, man, thanks! That helps a ton.

What kind of shocks?

Part of your issue might be those overload springs on the shocks. Those put undue stress on the shock mounts and usually end up cracking the upper mounts as well as taking up more space that the exhaust needs

Glad it helped... KYBs on all 4 corners. I haven't been under the car in a while, I think they are GR-2s.

RacerX,

That is a photo of my car (73stangcoupe). 71JCode just needed a visual. I had no idea the springs could be a problem. Thanks.

The reason I asked about the shocks is I'm running almost identical coil overs on mine. Bought em nearly 40 years ago. Thought I was the only one. Real surprise to see your pic.

I knew I forgot to take a pic of something else when I was in Dad's Garage the other night! I need to check Both Bosses and the Q code to see how they look.

Mike how hard or easy was the self install and how does it sound?
Self install was some where between doing your own upholstery work

and properly tuning a quench Cleveland w/cam.

We used clamps not weld and everything fit together.

As soon as I get my new camcorder I will upload a sound byte.
