just thought I would put this out there in case anyone had something sitting around they want to move. Looking for the rear seat (upper/lower) standard white vinyl (Code 1W) covers.

I know you can buy it re-pop, but you either buy just the front seat covers or the complete set (front/rear seats). My front seats were recovered and are in excellent shape, just need the rear seat covers.

If not I will have to buy the complete seat, but just in case. Thanks

Dont have them but was reminded that a couple years ago there was a 73 sportsroof sitting behind an abandoned house out in the country outside the city. It sat there untouched for I dont know how long. I finally said screw it and stopped. Looked the car over. Was a 73 sportroof with a 302 auto. Blue with mint white standard interior. Looked completely untouched. Neighbor came out, saw me poking around. He didnt care. Said didnt know who the house belonged to. I guess had been empty for years and might have went up for taxes. Couple months later I went by, car was gone and so was the house. I wish I had given the neighbor a couple hundred and towed the stang in the middle of the night!

Pastel Blue, I just know that you will certainly enjoy driving your car once you get over all these "Bumps" in the road! Yes the buy all of it or the front only can be a PIA. Especially in cases like yours where you acquire a vehicle with good front seats and only need the rear covers. I had heard a lot of complaints about color mismatch, sew lines and seat back and bottom lines not matching, etc on a couple of popular seat cover manufactures.

I would contact or request some seat material samples from SMS. They handle NOS, OEM, and manufacture their material. I requested some 5A sample material (3 different types) for my deluxe interior Mach1. They were identical to the factory seats including the comfort weave, and the never the right color greyish/silver seat back stripe. If you have a local upholsterer you really like, I would check with him to see if he would make you some covers or if he has had any experience with SMS. My local shop has been in business since the 60's, had ordered SMS material before, and really liked it.

Hope this helps so we can get to that next bump! LOL ::thumb::

Thanks Secluff... Lots on my mind with this car. More than likely I will just buy a complete new and matching front/rear seat application. A good point about matching what I have already, as I don't know the supplier I would be taking a chance even if someone had something.

Haven't really thought about driving the car yet... Still lots to do.

When I think about it, I only purchased the car in July, 2015; had it delivered in early September at which point I immediately started the tear down and the car went into the body shop at the end of November. Its really only been in my possession for about 3 months to date... Really don't know the car "personally" yet...

In the mean time, I have worked on getting the correct suspension in place and purchasing countless parts for when the car comes home at the end of the month. I have refurbished some pieces in anticipation of the car's return home and I will slowly start to reassemble the car piece by piece ensuring every piece is refurbished/ replaced as necessary.

I still have not tore into the engine yet, but have decided that it will be rebuilt regardless of what I see during the dissassembly. It doesn't make sense to take any chances at this stage. I still like to tear it down for the experience. I have had the 9" trac look rear end completely rebuilt, -all new bearings etc and will be completing the install this week.

The interior will be a bitc_... But it will get done. The A/C will cost a pretty penny but I will order all new parts out of Classic Air or a similar co., have to research further.

I have my plan in place on this restore, I expedited the restoration by having the body paint professionally done, expensive but will pay divedends in the end...

Lots of questions still to come and be answered but this is my second complete restoration of a big block '71 and I want to ensure I do things right the first time, hopefully... Cheers

Am I correct in assuming your car is a fastback?

71steed, I'm sure Pastel Blue won't mind me answering for him. He has a convertible (1W) standard white interior. Too bad he doesn't have a sportsroof. I have the white rear seat (GW) from a 73 Mach 1 I parted out years ago.

Yes sorry about that... Should have obviously noted the type of Mustang. Still searching...
