Substitute for Argent color paint

Need to paint rear spoiler in argent to match side stripes and hood treatment. Any suggestions as to what color I can use as a matching substitute for Argent?

I've read that the "Ford Argent" spray bomb paint the NPD sells is a pretty good match. No personal experience thought.

Tim, Ford never really had a code for the exterior accent paint. There was Black, Silver (Argent) and textured Black with Ford part numbers (1 QT cans) listed under the paint chips that were used for painting hoods, scoops, lower body, spoilers, etc. There was also a 15oz spray can of argent with just a little more gloss than the accent argent that was used more often because of the convenience of not having to mix paint.

Like TommyK, I don't have any actual experience with NPD's paint, but...I've heard more good than anything else from friends and forum member's here. If a little unsure about their argent offering, I would give them a call and see what they suggest.

There are literally thousands of variations of metallic silvers out there.

Is this going to be a DIY job, or are you paying professionals to respray the spoiler? Either way, hunt down a local paint/panel shop.

My advice, if you want to achieve a close match to the argent color that's on the car now, would be to target a reputable paint and panel shop, and get them to eye match/spectro/ or color swatch the color to match the argent that's on the car now. Make, match and mix up around a quart/ 1 litre of color so you will have plenty left over for future touch ups. You can either go water based base coat or solvent based base coat. I prefer solvent based base coat as the better choice.

A 2 pak clear coat will finish off the spray job. You can dial in any gloss level you want, by adding different percentages of flatting base to the clear mix.
