You need to ask your self do I really need 6 gears. I'm running a TKX with 3.70 gears. 2100 hundred in 5 gear at 75 mph and plenty of pull to 100. Could not be happier. Bolts right in with no issues.
How tall are your tires? Calculated with the tremec app comes out to 30” tall.

My tires at 26” tall.

Will need a belhousing for a small block of 6.925 inch height or Bell plus spacer that equals that...
Do not have info for big blocks...

I was running BFG 255/60/15s witch are 27" tall. I just switched to 275/40/17 and are a little shorter at 25.66 It's turning 2400 hundred now. The speedo maybe a little off now.
 
I am at the buy once cry once. Thinking 6 spd as it handles more torque. Also can take off in second for 0-60 acceleration and then first for normal driving.

Live in Texas so I have been on the 85mph posted tollway that you can pass a cop doing 90ish and them not care.

T56 can get .50 second overdrive 6th.

I am rpm limited by the supercharger I think I figured out max blower speed is about 6500. Guessing near that it is mostly just generating heat and since I have no intercooler guessing 6k is really max.

So juggling trans ratios and rear ratios to get second gear on a 6 speed to do 0-60.

2k rpm is 83mph with a 3.7 rear ratio

That also makes 2000 rpm:
20mph second
30mph third
40mph fourth
55mph fifth

So easy take off in first for my daughter who will inherit the car and reasonable put around ease, but built well enough to handle me being a jerk to it.

Where are you trying to build the power band?
What are the numbers for the cam
Why do you care about 2,000 RPM
Can you share the math that got your rear gearing at 3:70

If you want a 6 speed you need a different trans gearing -- 4th to 5th is to big of a jump.... to fit what you're saying when will you use 6th gear?
First Gear Ratio:
2.97:1
Second Gear Ratio:
2.10:1
Third Gear Ratio:
1.46:1
Fourth Gear Ratio:
1.00:1
Fifth Gear Ratio:
0.74:1
Sixth Gear Ratio:
0.50:1
 
I just pulled a TKO five speed from my '73 Mach 1 opting for a tweaked AOD. It has 1800 miles on it. I am in the Texas Hill Country and will make you a pretty good deal on it. Not interested in shipping. Fit fine with existing hole but do not have a console. PM me if interested.
 
Cam is a Howard’s rattler.

2000 rpm is where the cam has calmed down, the blower is not generating a lot of heat and the exhaust hasn’t started howling (full 3” with X-pipe

I want the car to cruise comfortably for long distances. I gave up motorcycles as we weren’t comfortable two up after my bike wreck years ago.

Close to retirement we want to do stuff that involves traveling in my first car I rebuilt in my garage that I want to build family memories around.

Included is the speeds at 2k

Around here the tollways people travel 80 mph following police cars so the steep sixth is useful.
