Looking to make some upgrades, so I don't seriously break my drivetrain.

my Nitto 275/60R15 tires are on the way.

I have the axle thing figured out, now what about that smallblock input shaft ?

I have 3 options :

David kee big block unit+ clutch disc, retainer, release bearing and clutch fork (that will have to be modified.

Dan Williams modular (small block) unit, made out of 9310 steel, that would require almost nothing additional

or hemi input shaft , which I have found very little information on thus far.

My # 1 question would be: What would the torque capacity be on the Dan Williams small block unit ?

Who on this site has gone either route?

Just how strong is 9310 steel ?
