What a day....

So, I came in from Toronto to attend a few of the Phoenix auctions. This year I decided not to rent a car, transit system only with a few cabs where necessary. Staying in Mesa. Decided to take a long jaunt across town, thinking I would pay a personal visit to K Marti's place located in El Mirage on the outskirts, west end of Phoenix.

3+ hours on an LRT and buses and I managed to reach the suburb of Youngtown, pretty close to my destination. Unfortunately, the Phoenix bus stopped and did not proceed into ElMirage. So I walked like an idiot for a while hoping to see a cab drive by, but there isn't much out where I wound up... Decided to cut my losses and head back into the City. Long day, no results... Wanted to order some stuff for my current project. Guess I will have to do it the hard way, pick up the phone!

I may rent a car before I leave on Sunday and try again... Hope my jaunt to Barrett Jackson tomorrow goes better...

Oh yeah, the joys of public transport.

They're great when your destination is on the usual routes but as soon as you need to go somewhere special you're usually screwed.

I should know, I work the railway company.

Yeah, once you get out of the Phoenix city area the transportation is giong to be poor. The city area is also not good for just picking up a cab.

Where abouts are your staying in Mesa? I just so happen to be driving my Mustang around a bit. Perhaps we could hook up somewhere. The car is a little dirty and I am in the middle of some work to it but it is presentable.

If you have a smartphone, install Uber and/or Lyft to get around. Otherwise, write down the phone numbers of a couple of cab companies and keep them in your pocket.

I've called the number for Marti and I got the impression the business was run out of their home?
