Strip off the anodizing and then they can be polished

Send them out for polishing / re-anodizing

You can also have them all chrome plated

Knowing that the aluminum window moldings are anondized (sp?) from the factory, is there a way to bring them back to really shine? Thanks.
I've removed all my moldings and stripped them then polished to a great shine. I followed Chucks instructions, it's a lot of work but my labor is cheap and the results are great compared to what they were. I chose not to clear coat them and it's been several months and they still shine.

I tried the oven cleaner today.Seemed to take off the anodizing. Then put the cloth wheel on the grinder with the red and white bar for polish. The three pieces I began with looked hopeless, frankly. Never thought I'd be able to use them. But I surprised myself. They are almost to the point of looking new. Thanks to all who contributed to this thread. Saved me some $ and enjoyed doing the work as well.

I guess that is what this forum is all about.
