So I already purchased a full smoked glass set for my 72 Mach 1 and have it waiting for install. I just installed the quad power window motors and am setting that up. I'm now thinking about the next steps and am starting to notice from online, there is there a difference in the glass where it might not fit with the power window motors isn't there? That half moon notch at the bottom. I feel like that is becoming more certain with me and I'll have to contend with shipping glass back which is a nightmare in logistics and cost I don't want. But as for the rear quarter windows. I can't seem to find what window glass exists that fits for them being power. I see convertible and coupe rear power, but not fastback. I rear another threat that exited here about a manual conversion and other that have the rear power, though few. From experience, I am looking to know what rear quarter glass do I buy that will fit for rear quarter power in my Mach 1 fastback? Thanks

The manual door glass will hit the motor casing, and cause the window to stick up about 1/4" above the beltline weatherstrip. You *might* be able to retrofit a motor from a later model car like an 80's LTD or whatever, as they used a thinner motor case. Ford used the same basic motor on pretty much every FLM car through the mid-80's.

The sportsroof quarter glass is the same for all applications.

So I got this new kit that does not appear to be a "conversion", but other replacement motors specifically mention being same specs and dementions as original and this kit does not say that. My mechanic said these motors seem way thinner than original. If they are thin enough, not being original specs, you still this I'll need the coves?

The motors on that are in a completely different location than the factory, and much smaller. My though is you are good to go with the non-power glass.

My mechanic was feeling the same way. A little concurrence in opinions is lowering some of my stress on the matter. So we'll go into it with fingers crossed, but feeling a little more optimistic now. Thanks.
