First Mustang at 15 years old (65 coupe 289) , I’ve owned at least one Mustang for the past 45 years. How bout you guys?

I've owned at least one Mustang over the last 47 years, and have owned my '72 Q-code convertible for 47 years. Others were:

Picked up the 73 Mach 1 as my first car a month before I turned 16. Damn I was cool! It got wrecked 4 years later (drunk driver turned left in front of me)
Replaced it a month later with my 73 Convertible. Still own that one.
That puts me at 44 years owning a 71/73 and except for that month it's been continuous.

I've owned my current '71 Mach 1 for 34 years. Before this car, I had a '65 Hi-Po GT Coupe and a '66 Shelby GT-350, I would still have kept the two early cars , save for the fact that a couple of people interested in them offered me big dollars for each, and I caved. Never again. My Mach 1 leaves when I don't want it anymore, which is not going to happen.

Bought my first Mustang in 1987, which was a '66 Sprint 200 hardtop.

Still own the '72 convertible. Bought it in 1988. No plans to ever sell it! All the rest have moved on.

First car was a '73 Grande' in 1989. Have always had at least one since then, except for a couple years with a Torino GT. There was a meme going around about how the average person owns eight cars in their lifetime (LOL) so all my friends sat down and catalogued the cars we have owned. I'm at 48 and counting.

Don't quite have the track record that you all do....wanted one since I was 19....took me until 51 now to just get my first. Makes it a little more enjoyable knowing I finally got my man prize after paying for the daughters college, and the wedding and getting all the other life stuff out of the way. Lol...hence why it is my new weekend hobby full time now. This 72 will be my driver..waited too long to let it sit once its done!

Had a '70 Sportsroof from '03-05 (17yo to 19yo).
Picked up my '73 coupe just shy of a year ago, at 37.

One wife and one car! 50 years

Have had my 71 convertible for 49 years next April will be 50 was my first car. Also bought a 68 convertible in the mid 80s but only had that one for 6 months before someone totaled it.

I owned a 73 from when I was 16 to almost 21 years old. I also had a 69 Mach and a 69 coupe within that time frame. I also had a 78 Mustang II hatchback with a 302 and a 4 speed when I was twenty for a couple months. It seemed someone always offered more than I thought they were worth so I sold them, but never intended to let the 73 go.

I had a co-worker back in 84-85 that kept begging me to sell him the 73 and offering more and more for it. Every week or two the offer would go up, but no matter the offer, I kept telling him it wasn't for sale. One Saturday morning at work, he offered me $5K and I told him it wasn't for sale even though the car was worth maybe $2500.00 at the time. An hour later my very recently ex-girlfriend came in and started the conversation out with "I saw your Mustang in the parking lot so I thought I would stop in", and it took me over 45 minutes to get rid of her. After she finished mind-screwing me and left, I told my co-worker he could buy the car but he couldn't drive it to work on Saturdays when she was off work and could see it and stop in again. He of course said it was a deal and I regretted it almost immediately, but he never would sell it back, I tried for years last we spoke a few years back he still has the car and has no intention of ever selling it.

I was working at a Pontiac dealer at the time and owned a couple T/A's already. I took some of the money from the 73 Mustang sale and bought a 70 GTO 455HO 4-speed car and started down that worm hole of owning a bunch of Firebirds and GTO's. Fast forward to 2015, where as an adult, (complete with four kids and a mortgage) I got into Chevelles and Camaros, honestly because they were plentiful and cheap and inexpensive (comparably) to build and make go fast. I finally got back to the Mustang fold when I bought my 71 Mach in 2022, and built that car as a tribute, you could say, to my 73 Mach that I never should have sold.

I admire you guys who can keep a car for a lifetime. I met a guy at a car show that parked next to my 69 RS/SS 396 Camaro with his 69 Camaro SS 350. He was older than me and the car was a nice survivor type car. It had some noticeable repainted areas but overall original paint with some blatant touch up attempts here and there. He was older than me and asked how long I had owned mine, noting I was too young to have owned it since new. I told him a couple years through the restoration and now was just starting to drive it to car shows. He told me how he bought his new in 69 because his 67 Chevelle was a 4 speed and his new bride at the time couldn't drive stick. He told me stories about taking his wife and kids on vacation with it and all the good times they had with it. I was really impressed by the length of ownership of his car and frankly a little envious. Unfortunately, I have never owned a car more than 6 years in my life, before I got bored with it or somebody offered me a good profit. I am hopeful that now that I am approaching 60 and maybe I have matured enough that my 71 Mach will be here for the long haul.

HemiKiller should be crowned king for the most cars owned! My list of cars is much fewer, but two in particular would be my crown jewel if I still owned them, unfortunately I don’t. Still kicking myself.

As far as the future is concerned, I need to finish building my 69 sports roof. I have 557 stroker with Kasse heads for it. I already have a full cage and frame connectors installed, a mustang II coil over front suspension and most of the body work completed.
Future projects I would like but probably won’t happen due to my age and finance constraints would be to find a nice 71 sportsroof body because I have enough extra running gear to make a 429 tribute.
I also would like to find a nice 65 fastback body and build a potent small block.
Lastly, when I win the mega millions, lol, I’m gonna buy all the rare Ford, Chevy, and Mopar muscle cars I can get my greedy little hands on.

I'm at 49 vehicles that I can remember at this point (not including boats) and counting as well as 2 wives and counting.

I thought we were just listing Mustangs. I've had a bunch of other cars, trucks, and motorcycles. They don't provide the excitement or enjoyment like a Mustang does!

I’m too old to remember, but I have two 73 Mustangs now. I’ve got to get that to one.

I have owned my 1972 Mustang Coupe since December 6, 1971, so blessed to still have it and it is numbers matching. So Blessed by God

I've owned my mustang for 49 years; 1973 Mach 1. Also my first car.

Many other Mustangs as well (a lot or them more valuable), but this the one that means the most to me.

My first car. Purchases 4/16/79. Boss 351..hence the Candy Rcode. Senior high school year. Paid $2500 for it. Had 21,823 miles. Just turned 40k a few months ago. I beat the crap out of it. Recently removed a 4.71 TT and installed the original 3.91 track lock . UG!. When purchased it was a shiny code 3 RED. I do not care for that color red. So I painted it house of Kolor Candy Maroon base/red over.
