Finally got around to updating the center console, clock and gauges. Also decided to install an Android head unit with reverse camera. The original clock was burnt out when I purchased the car. I managed to find a quartz analogue clock that looks good and fitted pretty well into the original space with a bit of dremel work. The clock shouldn't draw much power but I installed a small switch to turn off power to it if needed.

Nice work! Is your car all set up for right hand drive?

Installed a new set of aux gauges and Wideband. Just need to hook everything up, including getting the O2 bung welded in. So far so good and I'm happy with the look of the setup.
On the other side of the spectrum, I'm a hack when it comes to body work, so I'm continuing to turn my car blue again (versus the gray, blue, black mess) with spray paint. Cheap spray paint, at that. Looks less crappy than before, so that's a net positive.

I decided to take a little hour drive yesterday and spend a little money.

Well...more than a little. But oh well. Some nice rides in the lobby (GTO especially) and the team was great as usual.

@Rick@NPD sorry I missed ya my friend.

Been wanting to do this FOREVER, but still haven't convinced myself to drive up from Ft. Lauderdale, only to empty my bank account... which would inevitably happen while I'm there. Must've been fun for sure.

Nice Stang. What do the three toggle switches in the center dash control? Also sitting nice in the rear, what size rubber?

Big plus to not having a $10k paint job is not worrying about dings and scratches.

Thanks! The left toggle switch is the electric fan. The center one used to control fog lamps (actually functional ones instead of the useless parking lights), but after the front was crushed, I never replaced them. So for now it’s vacant. Last one was a provision for any future accessories, but has never been used. So basically only one works.

Rear meats are 275/60R15s.

So, Ran around a lot yesterday, ( it was 60f) while driving, my alternator light came on at idle, ( i have found loose bolts) rev it up a little and it goes away.... well got home and started checking the belt... it was tight... I am like wtf? Got a closer look.... all 3 bolts that hold both halves of the alternator are MISSING! Well, did a little research, found a company that offers them, found another with the size... 10-24 x 2 1/8, went to hardware store, bought 10-24 x 2.5 screws and red loctite, took positive battery cable off, replaced screws, reinstalled .... started car... Alternator light still on... again... wtf... well started wiggling wires... light off... light on... light off etc... for about a half hour.... found a wire that some one had crimped(poorly) that goes from the Voltage regulator to starter solenoid, took it and soldered it back together... now light is OFF.

But, my heater core is now leaking... parts ordered... will take pics and update when they come in.... On a PLUS side, in Ohio we have a place called Ohio Auto Kolor (OAK) they made me touch up paint, it didnt match, I went back, guy took about a half hour and wallah ! I now have touch up paint!

So not a total loss ..... to be continued......

Got a vacuum canister to help out since the cam doesn’t quite make enough vacuum for the brakes. With the help of the rubber strap I was able to get it into the charcoal canister mount. Helped the brakes out. Found a vacuum leak in the process and she’s running good for today.

Replaced heater core, removed a/c evaporator, made car a/c delete , complete, someone took the rest of it off... i got the evaporator out, looks pretty clean without expansion valve sticking out!!
My heater core had me pull "the box" as well. Since I'm in the Deep South, the green dye on my evaporator made me replace it instead of deleting it. Everything else A/C is off the car for the moment but I hope to have it functional again before the heat shows up.🤞Don't get me wrong, windows down cruising is OP, but so is flexing A/C at a red light on a Classic. lol

Looking for one problem when it laid down found many, but that's how she goes. Back when I thought I had ignition problems I found the spark plugs hadn't been gapped. As in some plugs had no gap. Really, really strange for the engine builder. So lately, we've got new plug wires, new coil, properly gapped (8) plugs, vacuum canister for the brakes, found a broken vacuum cap doing that, and I've been talking to Grok. It led me to the vacuum canister and told me to lean out my choke settings. Now it will crank cold with a couple pats to the throttle before hitting the key. Wild. My studies without Grok told me I needed more fuel from my accelerator pump. Bent the linkage a bit and oh boy. There's a tiny stumble, but son, all she needs is a tiny bend more.

Boys. The Mustang is running like a top. When I say that I mean that it running the best it ever has. This was my daily as a youngster. I didn't trust it for more than a 50 mile round trip. I've put around 100 on her in two days. My confidence led me into rain and then I found out the wipers didn't work. Turns out the nut backed off the wiper motor to wiper linkage? Tightened it up and it happened a couple more times. Young me replaced the wiper motor when it it went bad. Any suggestions? Probably missed the fact that it's a locknut or something.

Man. That was a long post. Uh, thanks for coming to my TED talk I guess.

It's hard being dumb, but onward I push.

Tackled the brakes...shoes, new drums and hardware, master cylinder, etc. Also was successful in finding a shop that can replace the rear window section that has been a thorn in my side...although their schedule to do it doesn't open until May. I've got 9 days of the house to myself with my wife heading out of the country with our daughter...so I am trying to come up with a list of things I can tackle with open-ended evenings of garage time. Most likely time to do the suspension.

Cheers all.

PBR
