Fair price for a set of fresh iron 4v CC heads?

Hi Everyone, I found a set of bare CC 4V iron heads for my 351c from a retired engine builder. They are $200 and already machined for screw in studs, and for $350 more he will machine the spring seats for oversized springs, machine the guides for positive seals, supply and install 16 bronze...

    41 years ago today

Hi Luke, That is a SWEET ride! Do you have the deluxe interior option (in blue)? If so, would you be willing to snap a few pics for me? I redid my interior last year, trying to make it as original as possible... I found photos on the internet to go by, but only a few that were from a genuinely...

Roller Camshaft: Adjustable vs Non-Adjustable Rockers

When installing a roller camshaft, should I be looking to have the heads machined to accept adjustable rockers? Or can I use a set of pedestal mount roller rockers (which I already have)? My car is a weekend cruiser, and reliability is important, unless there are significant performance gains...

Looking at getting CC heads, any recommendations?

Thanks again Jeff. I will need to do more research. I was already "finished" with my rebuild, however there were some mistakes made during the assembly process as the person helping me wasn't experienced with Clevelands. So now I am going to have a shop experienced with Clevelands take it apart...

Looking at getting CC heads, any recommendations?

Hi Jeff, I have a C6 automatic with a 2400 stall converter, and 3.25 rear end. My goal is to maximize my current setup. I figured high flowing CC heads would do that. Also, I have some money available to spend on "upgrades" so I figured it would be a good place to spend it. I would like to...

Looking at getting CC heads, any recommendations?

Thanks for the replies guys. Pardon my ignorance, but are there any other changes I should be looking to make with my engine when installing quench heads? I'm thinking: 1. Different cam more suited to the heads 2. Stud mounted roller rockers (since mine are pedestal mount) 3. Higher flowing...

Looking at getting CC heads, any recommendations?

Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade my 351c to CC aluminum 4V heads (currently have OC 4V heads). I'm looking for heads that will go well with my setup which has an optimal RPM range of about 2-6K. I already have an Edelbrock RPM air-gap intake so I was thinking of getting Edelbrock 4V heads...

Ram Air with an Air Gap Intake

I was thinking of just covering the ports up from the inside using little flaps. Once you remove the plastic honeycomb 'grills' then you can slip a thin sheet of plastic between the two stampings of the hood to block off the vents. When I trailered my car some 1000 miles to my new location...

Ram Air with an Air Gap Intake

It's an Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap, and the funny thing is all the Spectre air intake bits (the silver tubes) are all off the shelf and didn't need to be cut... they fit perfectly. I did buy 6" extension tubes however to make it fit the way it does.

Ram Air with an Air Gap Intake

Hi guys, I wanted to share with you all my setup for Ram Air using an Air-Gap intake. I have not run the car yet as I ended up moving just as I finished putting the engine in the car. I hope to have the car completed within the next few months. This is more just a show-and-tell :)...

Pedestal roller rockers, maintain stock geometry?

Hi all, If I were to buy a set of Scorpion roller rockers (pedestal mount), with a stock 351c rocker ratio of 1.73, would I be able to keep my stock sized comp cams magnum push rods? Or will the geometry be different and require a different length of pushrod?

B&M Holeshot does not fit stock flexplate?

Fixed. Bought the $80 b&m flexplate. My stock flexplate holes were 9 1/4" instead of the 11" needed.

B&M Holeshot does not fit stock flexplate?

The B&M torque converter I bought for my 351c with C6 does not line up with the stock flexplate.... Anyone experience similar issues? However there is a slight chance that my existing torque converter and flex plate aren't original...

351c w/ Comp Cams 280h, what ignition timing?

    '73 351c 4V Performance rebuild advice

I already went with a high volume pump because that is what George Reid recommended in his book "Ford 351 Cleveland Engines: How to Build for Max Performance." Do you guys think I will be okay with the stock oil pan for now? I won't be doing any kind of racing, except the occasional pedal flooring.

What size are the pistons and what is your asking price? Thanks.

    '73 351c 4V Performance rebuild advice

Just to note, I did get the ARP oil pump shaft as recommended in the book "Ford 351 Cleveland Engines: How to Build for Max Performance" by George Reid. Thank you for your insights. I did get the book by George Reid. I will look into those pistons as well.

    '73 351c 4V Performance rebuild advice

Hi, The goal of the rebuild is a mild street engine for occasional pedal flooring. I have a '73 351c 4v engine with a stock compression of 8:1. The camshaft kit I bought (comp cams 280h) calls for 9:1 compression. The '73 351c had lower compression due to dished pistons. If I used flat top...

    "brake light" light is on

Hi, I fired up my mustang for the first time in a few months yesterday. It ran fine. Today I fire it up and my brake light light is on. Checked the fluid, it was very low, so I topped it up. Checked the parking brake, and it is fine (the car rolls). Can anyone offer some suggestions? Not even...
