Yeah. I haven't seen too many with the vinyl top like. Is that factory? Or just something the disco lovers of the 70's came up with later?

Ya..some are dealer installed...mine came with one orderd from ford..but i think ford installed ones were only half roof..pretty much from window too window...will say it on the buck tag if it was factory..and if the buck tag is missing..only way to figure it out is a marti report.

I doubt it has a 351M. That would require a tranny swap too (unless it came originally with a big block). But yeah, looks like a good starting point.

Yes. I remember the dealerships had things they offered - including vinyl tops. Usually vendors would offer this and other items for the dealership to add. A lot like window tint and pickup bed coatings are offered now.

Body side mouldings were also offerred, which were those (non-factory) rubberized strips that ran the length of the car about middle of the door - heighth wise.

Add-on A/C, seat covers, undercoating & rust protection (like Ziebart), slicone paint "treatments" or "protectants" were very popular. All these items were marked up and sometimes financed with the purchase price of the cars. This equalled big, EXTRA profit for dealers.
