289 Performer intake for 302

My son received a 289 Performer intake with the 71 Fastback we just got. The car has a stock 302. Would this intake be compatible? Being new to Fords, I dont know if there is a difference between the two.

The 289 and 302 are in the same engine family and have the same deck height, so, yes it will fit.

OK, thanks....so the port size between the 4 barrel intake and the 2 barrel 302 heads should be close?

I have a factory A code 289 4bbl intake on my 302.

the 289 and 302 are really close to identical to each other.

I have this intake on my 302. Works great.

I just put this intake on my car with an Edelbrock 1403 500 CFM carb. It runs great. I had a cast iron 2BBL intake and Autolite 2100.

It will work fine with a 289 (like I have) or a 302 but you'll need a 4V carb and some other minor items.
