351c head number location???

Where do I find the casting numbers on the 351c heads and can they be seen with the motor in the car?

I believe they are on the intake side, between the intake ports near the center.  It has been a while since I have been there though, so I could be wrong.

It is under the intake port.

Zoom in this picture and you can see it under the two middle intake ports.

I'll throw these pictures in here. If you use a mirror, you can see the casting letters on the underside of the heads, but you have to take the intake off to see them which is a real pita if that's all you want to know. The date code is located between the valve springs and can easily be seen with the valve over off. Mine is not to clear unfortunately, but you get the idea. Both heads will most likely have different date codes, but should be in range for the engine build date, which should be located on the aluminum strip tag mounted under the distributor........... if you're lucky and still have that.

The pics loaded in reverse order, but date code is 0 = 1970, M = Dec, 1 = 1st day. Heads are D1AE - GA which are closed chamber 4V.
