Nice Diamonds Are Forever car. Price seems low for a J code car.

The paint on the door striker post says not too good of a paint job. But a great car if you like the 429.

Heck I just gave my builder a bag full of cash last night for my new garage no more cars until lottery pays off, lol.

Now who on the Forum is going to buy it? Sounds like they need cash fast so a low offer would be a good start. Walk in with stacks of 20's like a drug dealer and their eyes open wide, lol.

I sure would like to buy it. I haven't had a red car in a while. He has it priced to sell. The stacks of $20 bills thing does work.

So rare to see them (correctly) non-side striped.

Hey, don't be a hater! I was missing half my rocker moldings. :-/ :shootself: :whistling:

Seriously though - nice car. ::thumb::

I am SO glad I'm not on the market for one... I would mess that car up with some restomod goodies (tasteful, period-correct goodies, of course... but restomod goodies nonetheless). It needs to stay how it is.

Looks like a nice car

Says fold down back seat... doesn't look like a fold down to me

If you owed a car for 38 years wouldn't you know it is not a fold down seat

Just bought a J Code so this will have to slide passed, alas. But it is a rare species: sans rear spoiler, dog-dish hubcaps with white walls, non-blacked out hood, vermilion interior, 4-speed with (assuming it is an original J) 429 CJ: not everyday you see one like this. And quick sale to boot!

I was going to comment on this being such a good deal and so forth, but something about the vegetation in the one picture didn't look right for Springfield, IL. I thought ok, maybe the owner has the car stored at another property, no big deal. Then I performed a Google Image Search on both of the CL images, and there is a dead-ringer for the interior shot around the middle of this thread:

http://www.mocgb.net/forums/showthread.php?68916-71-Mach-1

The car in that thread does appear to be the same one in this CL ad, and it's a 351 rather than a 429 car, so buyer beware. That interior shot is definitely identical, with the same driver's seat tear, mirrored rather than wood-grain insert on the passenger side door panel, missing metal insert on the passenger side seat upholstery, steering wheel cover, painted door striker, and so forth. I hope I'm wrong but it seems like a CL scam.

Now here is a man that knows how to research the internet. Great info they are probably looking to get someone to send deposit or something. I wondered why there were so few pictures in the ad when you can put like a dozen.

GREAT CATCH! :bravo:

I came across a craigslist scam for a '71 a few weeks ago in phoenix. I used the same photo search technique and couldn't find a match. This particular ad is much more convincing, so they're getting better at scamming...tar and feathers would be a good start for punishing this sort of scum.
