1973 Mustang Mach 1 Q code AC 4 speed
I've been looking online for a diagram showing the air cleaner and pvc hose rounting. I'm not finding what I need. My Q code has the cardboard hose coming from the air cleaner and
going to the top of the charcoal cannister. The rubber hose next to it just terminates without being connected to anywhere. The PVC valve hose goes to a port on the back of the
carburetor. Does this sound correct? I would think the rubber hose coming from the air cleaner would connect somewhere.

It should connect to a plastic inlet on the rear of valve cover, like this one. Guessing your aftermarket rt. cover is missing it...

It's part of the crankcase breather filter system and paper hose in front is the carbon canister purge tube...

Maybe you can adapt something like this since it's hidden under the tower brace.

I'm just trying to figure out what to do with the rubber hose that's not connected to anything. Being I have aftermarket valve
covers that does not have the plastic fitting to connect it to, do I just leave it hanging loose.

Sorry I didn't see the link, The only place I can put this is where the PVC valve is located.
Why not use a step drill bit and just mount it where the original one should be?

Perhaps the attached photos and YouTube links below will be helpful re: seeing how those Fuel Evaporative Control System carbon canisters are connected. The only significant difference between 1971-1972, and 1973, Fuel Evaporative Systems is the 1973 Carbon Canister is taller than the canisters used in 1971 & 1972.

I appreciate the info. I decided to put the original valve covers back on which will eliminate the problem I'm having. That way
everything will hook back up correctly. Benefit of keeping all my original parts I pulled off.
