73 mach 1: marker bezel paint color?

Since the decal for the 73 mach 1 surrounds the front marker light and bezel, what color is the marker light bezel and sheetmetal area visible within the decal area?

Should it just be body color? or should it be decal color (black or argent)?

Personally I think it looks better decal-colored, but i am not sure that is how they were made.

Anyone with a definitive answer?

Personally, I think it looks kinda goofy (as in, the paint shop didn't know what they were doing) if it's painted 'stripe color.' But that's just me.

Yes, I can see that body color is definitely the simpler set-up for the assembly line. I just think it looks better "stripe-colored". I have seen many of each example over the years.

Oh crap! I totally thought we were talking about the hockey stripes on the '71-'72s.

In the case of '73s, I can totally see the logic behind the bezels being 'stripe color.' With the earlier models and hockey stripes, not so much.
