1972 H code convert., 351C 2V, FMX, 9in., Ram air, Pwr Steering, Pwr Disc brakes, air-conditioning, 15" sport wheels, Ivy Glo w/white deluxe interior.
Originally purchased this to replace the Pertronix that was installed on the car because it interfered with the ram-air system. It has not been installed or used because I found a Pertronix model that had the profile needed for the ram-air system. My understanding of things puts this as an OEM unit and not a new build replica version of the original. Please be kind in any correcting replies. Only repeating what I was told. Thanks.

One other thing of note, I had forgotten this was also a dual vacuum unit to fit the California Emissions that were original to the car. While they didn't work, being primarily disconnected, I removed the dual diaphragm and swapped it with the single from the Pertronix so that would have a more original correctness.

I’m interested, do you still have the dual diaphragm? Does it have a dual points plate in it?

Thnx
Yes, to the diaphragm, no to dual points. I wish it did, but I'd end up keeping it if it were.
Apologies for the delay, I clicked off notifications by mistake. PM me with your info and tomorrow I'll swap the diaphragm back to this distributor if you remain interested without the dual points.

Dual vacuum reinstalled. I can’t remember if vacuum advance distributors came with centrifugal advance so I’ll go out on a limb and state this is dual advance since it does have both mechanisms installed.
By the way, this is a quality rebuild and the points mounting plate is even original Motorcraft.

Understanding that the gear and shaft are slightly different between the Cleveland and Windsor engines, as well as a Cleveland gear is a larger diameter housing is about an inch shorter than the Windsor, below are three disty's I possess.
Left is the new Pertronix stock height Cleveland for the Ram Air filter housing to clear.
Middle is a Brand new Cleveland Disty
Right is the rebuilt Autolite

Now, all three gears are 1.41" Of the three, the right disty is the only one with the shorter housing so it looks as if both the manufacturer of the middle and Pertronix may have mixed up housings or just simply install the larger gear on the Windsor disty. For Pertronix, this could be a problem when I finally get to reinstall it in my Cleveland. I may need to contact Summit on Tuesday and see what's up because that 1" height difference possibly will be an issue. This is also a replacement they sent because the advance plate on the original, and something my memory is telling me was the exact height as the Autolite. Phew. More excitement on a Saturday night than in a long time.
While I do have a good while to get it sorted out, based on the rebuild schedule, the warranty will run out so, we'll see.

https://7173mustangs.com/threads/duraspark-ii-with-ram-air-debacle.45930/

You may find my thread linked here of relevance. Through the recommendation of board members I did not use the Pertronix and used a Duraspark II ignition system. All info you need is within that thread.

It seems to be working great. Knowing what I know now, I may have gone with the Duraspark dizzy but used an MSD control box and ignition coil instead as there seems to be some reliability issues with the chinese aftermarket control box.
