Gone but not forgotten! It went to a new home in North Carolina.
The car is in excellent shape overall, with lots of care, maintenance, and upgrades. Following is best I can describe it:
History:
Purchased in May of '96 from the third owner in California (I believe the car was originally from Kansas but went to California in the mid-70s). I drove it cross-country and it's always been garaged (either NY or NJ). Car has been meticulously maintained; receipts have been kept from the 1980s on. Usage has been limited to highway driving (since I rely on public transportation on a daily basis). Car is completely rust-free, accident-free, and is an excellent driver (it is a good candidate for a full-on restoration as well). VIN: 3F03H 187720
Condition:
Excellent, daily driver. Mechanicals are all excellent. Body has been resprayed in red metalflake in 2014. Interior is in fair condition and needs new upholstery. Convertible top was replaced in 2018. The car has high-mileage, but is incredibly solid, has no rust, or any mechanical issues— only 20K miles on engine/trans/drivetrain.
Specifications:
Make: Ford
Model: Mustang
Year: 1973
Body: convertible
Color: red (re-sprayed in 2014 in Ford Molten Orange Tricoat)
Engine: 351 Cleveland (rebuilt in 2012)
Transmission: Ford AOD (rebuilt/installed in 2012)
Factory options: power steering, power brakes (front disc), tilt steering wheel, side racing mirrors, A/C (non-working)
