Good morning. I’m in the middle of rear axle and spring clean up and now that I have my new 73 Parts book, I noticed that my rear axle spring perches are missing parts. Here is the diagram from the book, with the missing parts identified in the red circles:

When I had it apart, it initially worried me that the pin holding together the rear spring was so much smaller that the hole in the bottom bracket. I now see why. Is this a common removal that others have done or should I add these to the parts list of missing but needed parts?

Thanks again for the help.

The clamshells and insulators weren't used on the Mustangs. For '73, they were only used on the Cougar. 71 and earlier Torino/Montego had them as well.

That image is taken directly from the Ford Master Parts Catalog, so it's a Ford issue and not on Forel. They may have intended to use them, but the idea got dropped, or they simply decided to use the Cougar illustration with a "copy-paste" and figured the techs could noodle it out. There's no Mustang application for those parts in the MPC, so if a tech decided to dig, it would be fairly obvious. TBH, a note of "N/A - Mustang" would be appropriate.
