Hey guys,
I am rebuilding the 9inch diff and centre on my 72 Mach 1.
I am replacing all bearings and gaskets.
I have a question...
What backing plate gasket is the right one / best one for the 9inch on a 72 mustang (H code / FMX / 2.75 diff).
Note it did not have an inner one installed on either axle when I disassembled the diff.
The one that was in the car that I am confident is factory is made of metal.
The same as this one.
The alternative is the paper based type.
They are the same size
Im inclined to install the metal type so it is exactly the same as what was in the car.
Any advice / experience would be appreciated.
