My father has quite a collection, and we are beginning to off-load some as he enters into the nursing home phase of his life.

If anyone here collects coins, mostly things like limited edition gold or silver coins, give me a shout. I may have something you would be interested in.... like:

2009 Isle of Man Tutankhamun gold pyramid with sand from the site. It's 31gms of pure gold (999.9) in a triangular box... only 250 made.

2008 Beijing Olympics - Series 3 collection of 1oz Silver coins

He has tons of silver 50-cent pieces from the mid 1900's

There are a metric butt-load of U.S. proof sets and uncirculated sets going back into the 50's

Several PCGS rated Isenhower Silver dollers, DCAM Gem Quality

The list goes on. Shoot me a PM if you would like to get some stuff relatively inexpensively (less than I could get on eBay, net of their fees)... I really just want to off-load a bunch of this. We have a local coin dealer that we have used a LOT in the past few years... so it's not a complete pain in the butt to liquidate, but I'd rather see some friends here get a deal.

My wife is into Ancient Egyptian stuff like nobody would ever believe (I swear our MBR looks like King Tut's tomb), and I'd be interested in the 2009 Isle of Man Tutankhamun dealio you mentioned - her B-Day is coming up in September... and that would totally blow her mind. :D

I collect coins by date and mint mark as in sets. Been collecting for over 30 years and still have not "found" anything worth much. I would love to complete my wheat collection someday but just can't make myself pay that kind of price for an S-VDB penny.

PM sent... trying to figure out a fair price that would be a good deal for ya.

Dad had a 1909S-VDB that was slabbed by PCGS... we sold it a couple of years ago for $1,100

My dad and I collect wheat pennies. He got me started when i was a kid. Got a butt load of wheat pennies. Never actually went through them to see if any are worth more than $.01! When i was 16 i worked at a grocery store and grabbed every wheat penny i came across and i had all the girls in the office get them for me too.

Same here, several years ago I completed a wheat collection 1909-1958 including the 1909 S VDB, most were given to me by my dad or I went through change to find them, a few of the more rare ones I ended up having to buy to complete the collection. During one of my military moves the collection went missing, not even sure what year or which move it happened on, we had so many boxes we never unpacked during moves, we were just visiting we were sent, not staying so a lot wasn't unpacked. I just know when I went to look for it a few years ago, I couldn't find it. Keep hoping they'll someone how show up buried under something in the attic.

CZ-75, concerning your coin collection first thing I would do is go to a reputable coin dealer in your area and have them appraised, most people think their coins are worth more than they really, but you may have some really rare ones that you let slip through your fingers for pennies on the dollar if you're not aware of their value. If you have some really rare ones you could start a few bidding wars on eBay with them.

You could be setting on a lot of $$$.

I collect cents, nickels, dimes, and quarters but none are complete as of yet but hopefully someday they will be. Problem is every year they add more...lol

My Grandmother collected coins (where my Father got it from), and she gave each of us 3 grandkids a complete collection of Lincoln cents (well... it was complete as of then).

It is a series of 3 or 4 booklets like this:

I'm 99% certain that the S-VDB is a fake.
