After the dodge challanger thread..I started to think mine mite be one of them...Do i have to pull it off to see any numbers to make sure?

here is some pics...as you can tell from my trunk picture..the old filled original holes..and the new ones put in for this fin..Which is a bit wider..and taller...But no one has ever noticed..lol..but i did..but i thought it was just a aftermarket taller one..Now im not sure...Mite be dodge? Its been on it sence i owned her.

Somebody has to have the original supplier name for Ford.

After going back blowing up a photo of the mounts on the Dodge's spoiler it does appear to be higher and adjustable just as your's appears to be...I do think you have a Dodge spoiler on your car. My mount is lower and isn't adjustable as yours and the Dodges are. I hadn't notice it was higher until Don had mentioned it in his post then I went back and looked at the photos and he's right.

Wow..that close up pic...it looks just like mine....I think you helped solve a mystery..lol...I knew it wasnt original..but i thought it was some aftermarket..But then again..that dont make sence that a mustang aftermarket wouldnt line up too the original holes."unless it was badly made" ..And who would get one that didnt? Unless some one just wanted that fin...and had it around..and said..heck im sticking it on..I think it looks good...lol

Quick edit....Ohh i got it..thats what my j code stands for ;) hehehe just joking!!

To Hyena 429 ,what you have is a 1960/70 rear mustang spoiler on your car. I have one on mine the mounts are wider and taller. the spoiler on theat green dodge IS NOT a Chyrsler spoiler they are much thinner and shaper in contour and the bends on the ends are much different

Chris

+1 on it possibly being a 69-70 spoiler due to taller pedistals. Obviously I have one... Not sure if the pedistal width is different, but I can check that next time I get in the garage.

well..thats what i use to think it was or is...lol....Ya please check how far apart..and if it has the same adjustable unit and such...If not i guess i can pull it off and see if any markings on the bottom of it.

Ebay has an original 69-70 Mustang spoiler they're starting bidding at $750.00 for, it sure looks like the one you have on your car.

Different seller has "1970-74 Dodge Challenger Rear Go Wing Spoiler" truth is I can't tell the difference from the 69-70 Mustang from his attached pics.

I cant either Jim...looks just about the same in every way...lol...I guess i mite have to just pull it off to make sure...check the numbers under the mounts..if there are any.

Rear spoilers on 70 challengers and cudas looked the same as the mustang spoiler. Curvier go wing spoiler was introduced in 1971.

Ya im kinda torn on what its now...I guess the only way to be sure is to take it apart and check the numbers...If its a original 70 challanger ...or 69 or 70 mach 1 fin..It proubly still worth more than the stock original 73 fin..lol

Looks like the one I have on my car. The fact that it's higher REALLY doesn't help with back window visibility hahaha:p
It does...looks just like mine.....I think we got 69-70 mach 1 fin..or a challanger...Did yours come with a fin stock? Can you see any old mounting holes in your trunk?..And it does help being higher i have to say...lol

I actually haven't checked for holes but have known for a while it wasn't stock. And i compared it to a dodge one and they seemed the same. I think the wing itself is the same just the brackets are different. Are there any ford part numbers on original ones. Might just be all company's all used the same suplier just changed bracket height
